Introducing Jourdaine Dupont, aka Donna Moss (West Wing)
Previously, she was Donna Moss from the show The West Wing. After a chaotic relationship that saw her drop out of college, she talked her way into a job as Josh Lyman's assistant on the Bartlet for America campaign. It stuck, and she was hired as Josh's assistant when he was named Chief of Staff in the Bartlet White House, where she worked her ass off for the President, the country, and for Josh, the man she would quickly fall in love with, even though it would be unrequited for years. Her excellent work saw her being handed new responsibilities, like attending a delegation to Gaza, where she was injured in a terrorist attack. After that, she felt stuck in her role and quit to become a senior aide to Will Bailey, the Vice President's campaign manager, instead. Now she was Josh's rival! She was a strong and capable press secretary for the Russell campaign, and was eventually hired onto the Santos campaign. Who was running that campaign? Oh, look, Josh! After years of tension, they finally became a couple. And Donna became Chief of Staff to the country's new First Lady. She more than deserved the job.
Now she's Jourdaine Dupont, 32. Jourdaine--people close to her call her Daine--grew up in Baton Rouge. Her father was a soldier and died in the first Gulf War, leaving her mom to raise Daine and her two younger brothers by herself. She was in her second year at Tulane when Hurricane Katrina hit. The university was evacuated, and Daine spent a semester in Wisconsin until Tulane reopened in the spring semester. After graduation, she was a City Year AmeriCorps member for a year until she went back to Tulane for law school. She's been living in New Orleans since, and she'll always consider Louisiana home, but she does want to travel. Daine's always tried to put away money so she can do just that, though between her love of cute shoes and taking almost a year of leave from her job to work for the Clinton 2016 campaign, her savings aren't as hefty as she'd like.
She was married for two and a half years, but it didn't work out. He developed a drinking problem; Daine was initially supportive, but after he cheated on her, she had to cut her losses. Traveling a lot for the Clinton campaign helped her get over it, but that ended up being an even more devastating loss. She spent most of a month in bed afterwards. Since then, she's spent most of her time dedicated to her work as a Title IX lawyer and her volunteer commitments. It's a good excuse for when things in her personal life inevitably seem to get messy.
Daine is currently unaware.
